Glass Today: 21st Century Innovations, a group exhibition featuring 66 artists working with glass, will open today at the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, CT. The exhibition runs June 23-September 21, 2014.
Exhibition curator, Anna Rogulina, writes that ‘this exhibition looks to capture the enduring spirit of experimentation, innovation, and ambition that has characterized contemporary glass since the founding of Studio Glass under the leadership of Harvey Littleton (1922-2013). Today, fifty years later, contemporary glass has become increasingly multidisciplinary and accessible to artists looking to incorporate glass within their practice of sculpture, installation, video or performance art…glass no longer has anything to prove but everything to promise.’
We congratulate Amber Cowan, Steffen Dam, Josepha Gasch-Muche, Anja Isphording, Luke Jerram, Vladimira Klumpar, Therese Lahaie, Sibylle Peretti, Carmen Spera, Ivana Sramkova, Mark Reigelman, Lino Tagliapietra, Norwood Viviano on their participation in the exhibition.
